They're popular among children and adults alike. Piñatas have become so popular, that people around the world have started to integrate them in their own celebrations. They are made of clay or cardboard, decorated with colored paper and are filled with fruit and candy. The most traditional are the seven-pointed ones; however, nowadays they can be found in almost any shape, including animals, objects and even pop culture characters. Papel Picado Papel Picado's literal meaning is punched paper or paper with holes. This traditional folk art is found throughout Mexico and in the former colonies of Spain. In Mexico, this art has reached the pinnacle of expression. Sarape The Sarape is a garment worn by the country men of Mexico to cover themselves from rain and cold. It's the garment of a great rural tradition throughout Mexico. It's made with cotton fiber or sheep's wool, the thread is multicolored and the designs are unique. The thread is very thick, dyed with natural pigments and woven in the traditional indigenous way.
